There has never been a better time to use energy-saving options to renovating the home. The federal government and many states are offering rebates and tax incentives to homeowners who renovate using green designs. This includes topping up attic insulation and replacing the old, double-pane windows with the new triple-pane low-e and argon type. These increase the warmth of the home. As well, homeowners are replacing their water heaters with a solar hot water system which uses the heat from the sun to supplement their hot water needs. These systems can also be used to heat floors by hooking it into a radiant in-floor heating array.
